Legal policy starting point

Tajikistan has been seeking to implement rule-of-law structures since becoming independent more than 20 years ago. This concerns extensive reforms on the protection of human rights, on the independence of the judiciary, as well as in the field of substantive and procedural civil, criminal and administrative law. The Tajik Government has adopted reform projects in three-year programmes with a variety of foci since 2007.

Legal cooperation

The interest of the Tajik Ministry of Justice in legal cooperation with Germany was presented to the IRZ Foundation via the Federal Ministry of Justice. The IRZ Foundation thereupon invited a delegation led by the Tajik Minister of Justice, to undertake a fact-finding visit to Germany, during which talks took place with representatives of central judicial institutions, including the following institutions, amongst others:Visit by the Minister of Justice and by the President of the Constitutional Court from Tajikistan to the Federal Ministry of Justice in Berlin (6th from right: Federal Minister of Justice S.
